Ms. Cook joined the firm in May of 2009. She focuses her practice on public entity representation, with a concentration on school districts. Ms. Cook assists clients with matters related to education law, government law, employment discrimination issues, and employee discipline matters. She also has experience in election law and monitoring election recounts.

Ms. Cook’s prior legal experience includes an internship at the California Department of Parks and Recreation, where she assisted attorneys with employment cases, environmental issues and constitutional law matters. Ms. Cook also worked in the legal department of the California State Lands Commission, where she assisted attorneys by researching issues related to public coastal property. In 2008, Ms. Cook worked as a research assistant to McGeorge Professor John Sprankling, helping him complete a property law text book.

Prior to attending law school, Ms. Cook worked as a journalist in Boulder, Colorado for seven years. As a newspaper reporter, she provided daily news coverage of school districts, the University of Colorado, municipalities, and statewide political matters.
