William J. Trinkle is a widely experienced trial attorney, having litigated cases since 1982 in State and Federal courts in California. He has experience in court and jury trials, Federal and State appeals, mediations, and arbitrations.

Two of his most recent and substantial lawsuits are Millar vs. Bay Area Rapid Transit District(BART) and Marlowe vs. D. R. Horton. The Millar case was tried to a jury in Alameda County and resulted in an award of damages and costs exceeding $1.5 million. The Marlowe action was a court trial resulting in a damages award of $1.3 million.

Prior to joining Timothy M. Cary & Associates, Mr. Trinkle was associated for over nine years with the Walnut Creek, CA civil litigation law firm of Yudien & Associates. That firm specialized in labor and employment, wrongful termination and discrimination, real estate, landlord/tenant and business litigation matters. Before Yudien & Associates, for 10 years, Mr. Trinkle was with the Oakland, CA firm, Randick & O’Dea and handled general civil litigation matters, including trade association litigation, environmental litigation, commercial unlawful detainer, disability discrimination and real estate litigation in State and Federal courts. Mr. Trinkle served as a court-appointed, judicial arbitrator for the California Superior Court, County of Alameda from 1996 to 2000. Earlier in his legal career, Mr. Trinkle was associated with the Sacramento civil litigation firms, Grossfeld, Dougherty & Grossfeld and Mull & McCarthy, each with broad based business and civil litigation practices. In Fall of 1981, Mr. Trinkle was an intern/American law advisor for the transnational Danish law firm of Konig, Homann, Homann, Korso Jensen & Steen Hansen in Copenhagen. Mr. Trinkle served as a law clerk for Justice Edwin Regan, California Third District Court of Appeal in Sacramento during law school.

Adding to the breadth of his personal experience and service, Mr. Trinkle serves as a director and officer of two nonprofit organizations – the North American Vexillological Association and the Bear Flag Museum.
